Jennifer Bishop, LMHC
Jennifer Bishop is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor and Experiential Trainer. Jennifer is the Founder, President and Co-Owner of Genesis Counseling & Consulting, Inc., in Boca Raton, Florida where she specializes in working with families who that have recently gone through life transitions, such as divorce or remarriage. Families are in a constant state of change or transition; therefore she carefully looks at Family Systems, which says that when one part of a system changes, the entire system is changed. Staying grounded and present during these transitions can be challenging for any child, parent and family, no matter what their situation. When even one member of a family comes in for support, the entire family will benefit.
Jennifer has been providing services to children, adolescents and families for over 13 years. She provided family counseling and worked with family members to heal broken relationships, as well as, working with families through traumas in order for them to be reunited. In 2008, Jennifer accepted a position as the Licensed Clinical Supervisor with another non-for-profit agency where she ran an outpatient mental health clinic working with a variety of populations, including; dual diagnosis, victims of abuse, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and personality disorders. From 2011 to 2015, Jennifer worked part-time in private practice specializing in treating children presenting with anxiety disorders, depression, Asperger spectrum disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiance, low self-esteem and school-related problems. The primary issues that were presented in her office were for parenting support and family relationship support as they navigated through life’s difficult and inescapable challenges.
